Green Roofs mediate the 'carbon footprint.'  Green roofs are planted atop buildings and have a cooling effect on the space below.  Put down soil and plants on top of apartment buildings, office towers, back yard sheds, schools and churches to reduce energy demands and absorb CO2.  Green roofs also provide needed habitat for insects, birds, bats and other creatures, including humans who need a break from concrete and asphalt.
It's way past time for lazy scoffing at change that will improve our home planet's environment
and reduce the need for energy-sucking air conditioning.  Canada  is one of many leaders in rooftop gardening.
