He created a significant art work from a gutted prison in Buenos Aires where Argentina's military villians who took over the people's government tortured and murdered thousands. Wulsin's art project -- "16 Tons" -- transformed Carcel de Caseros (also the subject of a film doc by other artists) from a hulking stack of cages for humans into a light focused memorial to the countless Argentine political prisoners who rarely saw daylight during years of captivity during the brutal rule of the junta 1976-1981. |
